Peter Baker
President
Megayacht Technical Services International Inc.
A specialist in yacht management and surveying, Peter - who holds a BSc in Marine Engineering - is an expert in the new M.C.A. requirements, SOLAS, ISM and safety management regulations.
Prior to coming onboard Megayacht Technical Services International, Commander Baker designed, tested and evaluated submarine weapon systems, owned and captained several yachts up to 150 feet and acted as a consultant to the film industry, managing square-riggers in several well-known films. Combined with experience in commercial and research ship management, Peter provides key support within superyacht construction, refitting and operations.

Stuart Biesel
Vice President
Megayacht Technical Services International Inc.
Stuart joins us with a wealth of valuable experience and a broad marine background. He has been in the Marine Industry since 1992, servicing commercial vessels and private yachts, after an apprenticeship of engineering work with Mercedes and BMW. He now holds a USCG 1600/3000 ton Oceans Master License and has overseen the construction of three large vessels. He has captained megayachts travelling as far as Turkey, Australia, Hawaii and the Great Lakes. Stuart also operated his own yacht surveying company in Fort Lauderdale. He has completed ISM and ISPS Courses and is a Member of the Society of Accredited Marine Surveyors. Stuart’s distinguished practical and professional experience is invaluable to the Megayacht Technical Services team.

Taylor C. Lawson
Manager and Company Security Officer
Taylor joins us as a popular and well-known yacht captain who came ashore as his second son is born. He brings valuable experience in marketing and sales in the yachting and shipping industry, and has written and produced a successful series of Yacht Handling Training Videos. He has a USCG 500/1500 ton Oceans Master’s License and he has sailed on the West and East Coasts of the US, the Med, Japan and Central America. He has been trained by Lloyd’s as an ISM Auditor and has a Company Security Officer Certificate.

Grace Allen
Office Manager
Grace holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons.) degree in Chemistry and Marine Zoology. She previously worked at a Caribbean standards organization where she held the position of a technical advisor assisting members of industry in the interpretation of national and international regulations. Grace was a part of a National Committee and played a key role in the preparation and promulgation of standards. She has received training in ISO 9000-quality management systems and has been involved in several company audits. The International Safety Management (ISM) Code is based on the ISO 9000 system.
Grace will be key in the development and monitoring of ISM systems placed on vessels by Megayacht Technical Services and will provide support to the technical team.

Guy Taylor-Smith
Megayacht Technical Services - St. Maarten
The St. Maarten office is the latest addition to Megayacht Technical Services’ fleet.
Guy Taylor-Smith will operate MTS’s new offices out of Simpson Bay in St. Maarten. Guy has a background in Engineering and has spent the last 13 years working on motor and sail yachts as Captain, Engineer and Crew. Previous employment has included vessels such as MY Pangaea, MY Sea Jewel and SY Sapphire. He has also raced professionally for New Zealand on a variety of yachts. Megayacht Technical Services was very interested in this venture as St. Maarten is considered to be a hub for yachts awaiting charters in the Caribbean and it is excellent in terms of positioning and marketing the company’s many and varied services.
During the summer months, Guy relocates to the Antibes area, to be able to service our yachts during the Mediterranean season.

Erika Carver
Media and Graphics Design Manager
Erika Carver brings MTSI her varied experience in video production and other types of media, along with her seven year’s experience as a stewardess aboard superyachts. Erika’s newly created position as Media Specialist means she will put her skills in graphic design to work on IMO safety plans, training manuals, marina & shipyard design layouts and security drawings. Additionally she edits the guest safety training videos and yacht promotional movies the company produces.
